S.A. Fugax was founded in September 2022 for students looking for something a little different.
Maastricht has a lively student life, but our founders felt there was room for another kind of community. One where student life can mean board games, books, creativity and hot cocoa, not just parties.
A place for gamers, readers, D&D lovers, artists, Potterheads and everyone in between.
Why the name?
FUGAX
Once the idea existed, it needed a name. And in true student association tradition, that name had to be Latin.
The name Fugax reflects the quieter side of our association: tea, books, games, creativity, and a community where you do not have to be the loudest person in the room.
International from the start
Maastricht is an international city, but not every student gets the chance to experience Dutch student association life.
Fugax wants to change that. We bring together students from all cultures, countries and backgrounds, with English as our common language.
More than activities
There is always something happening at Fugax: board game nights, book club, circles, pub quizzes, movie nights, and, every now and then, a party.
But Fugax is about more than filling a calendar. Through our activities and yearclubs, you get the chance to keep showing up, get to know each other, and turn familiar faces into friends.
